Armare Ropes at Normandy Channel Race

With an excellent 7th place at the prestigious Normandy Channel Race, the 2016 season for the Class 40 “Colombre XL” by Massimo Juris and Peter Lucianiis is closed. The crew runs for the colors of the Compagnia della Vela of Venice, Sports Association also supported by Armare Ropes.

After a second place at the Grand Prix Guyader, a victory to the Armen Race, second place to the Round Ireland and finally the victory to Dreham Cup, the Class 40 Colombre XL has got an excellent seventh place at one of the great classics of the rise, the Normandy Channel Race. It is a race of 1,000 miles starting from Caen in Normandy, crossing the Channel to turn the Solent, and Land’s End in Cornwall, sail to Ireland until Tuskar Rock and the famous lighthouse of Fasnet and return to Caen. A race between the Channel and the Celtic Sea very technical with navigation along the coast to avoid the strong currents of up to 6 knots and in open ocean winds which this year reached 35 knots.
This year the race has experienced a great turnout, with 27 boats at the start and all the hottest names of the class and of the world of ocean sailing.
